Hi Kevin,

Your screen shots seem wrong. You have Vanek scoring his 21st and 22nd goal in both of those games. How is that possible? Did he get -2 goals at some point???

Nice blog I really like you're realness and I love 14 played it all day the day I got it love the fighting and how you don't always have to be the one fighting you can sit and watch a teammate fight and it is just as fun !

On Miller's house. He has a point. If he were to somehow re-sign, he'd probably buy a house in Clarence along with everyone else on that team.

Its good to see the Sabres dominate in 14 but I think everyone wants to know how did Niklas Jensen did for Vancouver?

The hitting and fighting is fun in NHL 14, but I feel the overall gameplay isn't as smooth as prior versions. Feel the skating is very sloppy and the I am fighting the puck more than ever. Usually when I get the new NHL game, I play it nonstop for a few days/weeks, can't say the same with NHL 14. Played it for a few hours Monday and haven't played it again since. Am I alone on this?

Not many of them are left in Clarence. I think it's just vanek to be honest. I used to see goose all the time at the coffee shop down the road from me.

The skating seems to be a little slower than NHL13, and I find it's very hard to stop and start; I end up circling and overskating a lot. But I've only had it 2 days, so I can't say for sure.

Why do they even need a Captain why can't they roll 3 A's untill the rebuild is complete and they start their climb up the standings.

I said at the end of the season that if Vanek is not traded, that he should be captain. My opinion hasn't changed.

vanek would be my choice, but you all know more about the sabres than I do! just an outsider opinion

I think they should enter the season with Ott, ehrhoff and Vanek as A's with no captain.. go from there.

Kevin, i'd like to take you on in 14. So far im 2-3, rough start. First my internet crapped out, next two I got smoked. Won the next 2 and while not using
Buffalo. Seems like the Sabres are the worst ranked team in the game.

So we can add to the embarrassment when he's traded/not resigned this year and we can continue our trend of having no consistency at captain for the last 10 years.

first thing i did in nhl14 in gm mode was trade Ryan Miller for TJ Oshie and a 1st. Oshie played right wing with Vanek and Hodgson. First game i won 4-2 and somehow Oshie scored all four goals. he's got 6 goals and 2 assists in four games so far. Enroth isn't doing great, but i've got some decent offense out of my top line and stafford that it's not really a concern.

14's great, but there are still a lot of cheap goals on the opponents first shot of the game. that and the opponent will know exactly where a bouncing puck will land. the opposing AI will come up with a loose puck probably 90% of the time.

exactly why i wouldn't do it.. I am sick of changing the captain every year. lets just let a real captain reveal himself and give it to them.. captains are not created by giving them a letter they are born, lets find out who has it in them.

I've had this game ever since it came out in my town, only three days ago. Totally addicted. Checking is unreal, poke checking is a bit less effective, but when the offensive player skates by, your D will at least slow him down with a small shoulder.
